About Me

I have been a MAKEUP ARTIST for over 15 years but it seems I have been interested in the beauty field much longer.  I think my love for makeup began when I was a teenager.  I would love to spend time at the mall (like most kids) but I always would hang around the cosmetic counters and look at all the products and colors.  I would also watch those shows where they would do complete makeovers on people and I was in awe of the change that the right makeup and hair could make.  I remember saying to my mom "That’s what I am going to do someday"  I would bring my friends home from school and cut their hair and do their makeup even before ever going to beauty school.  Once I finished high school I went straight to cosmetology school.  My parents and friends encouraged me because they knew I had natural talent and it would be a waste to do something else.  When you know what you want to do, why not start right away?
So I went to school and learned both hair and makeup and then began to work in a salon where I began to build up a clientele.  I then brought a camera to the salon and began taking before and after pictures of all my clients after I had done their makeup and cut and styled their hair.  I took these photos and put together my first portfolio.  Once I had a good amount of photos
I decided that it was time to see if I had what it takes to do makeup and hair for professional models and actors.  So I took a leap of faith and went to Ford Models in the city and showed them my amateur photos.  They saw that I had talent and immediately recommended me to some of their photographers that were doing test shoots for their agency.  So from there I gathered names and went to meet these photographers and they began to use me to do makeup and hair for the models on the photo shoots.
One thing led to the next and before I knew it I had a professional resume and portfolio and began to get more and more good paying jobs.  I had heard in order to make it big and gain experience as a makeup artist the thing to do was to go to Europe and try to get tear sheets.  So I did.  I spent some time in Milan Italy and got some magazine tear sheets for my portfolio.  I returned to NY with more credibility under my belt and began to get more work then ever before.  Eventually I got married and moved out of NY to NJ and began to do some more work locally.  Since this time I had a beautiful little girl and decided it was time to take the experience I had in doing makeup for fashion and advertising and use it to begin to build up a business closer to home doing brides and weddings to add to the other types of work that I do!  So this brings me to today and this website.  Hope to get a chance to meet you soon and find out more about you and your story!
